History of Troy University and eArmyU

Troy University offers degree programs worldwide, having established locations in Europe, the Pacific, Cuba, and in the continental United States, in addition to the TROY campus at Troy, Alabama. Troy University's programs at off-campus sites have been approved by the Board of Trustees and are identical in scope and credit level to programs and courses offered on the TROY campus. All requirements for degrees offered at an off-campus site may be completed in their entirety at that location by a ten-week term or the weekend intensive format. Courses completed at any off-campus site may be transferred to the TROY campus or to any other TROY location as all campuses are unified under one accreditation.

What is eArmyU?
In 2001, the U.S. Army launched one of the most innovative online learning programs in the world–eArmyU. This exciting program, developed by The Army Continuing Education System, is designed to offer eligible enlisted Soldiers and officers the opportunity to work toward a college degree or certificate anytime, anywhere. eArmyU revolutionizes Army Education through state-of-the-art online learning.

As of 1 Apr 06 the eArmyU Web site known as www.eArmyU.com is now accessed from GoArmyEd (www.GoArmyEd.com). GoArmyEd, designed as a one-stop location for soldiers to manage their college education and Tuition Assistance (TA) benefits. GoArmyEd is a dynamic portal that automates and coordinates many Army Education Center paper-based processes, enables TA usage to be tracked, and student record information to be viewed anytime and anywhere. Although GoArmyEd replaces the eArmyU portal, it builds on the same technology and processes while providing access to eligible Soldiers. eArmyU offers:
